Crazy week!!

So this week was super fun, and we found out some fun stuff too! So to start off we had a really good p day last week, pretty normal for a p day here. But then on Tuesday we had district meeting, and so that took a good chunk of the day. Then after district meeting I was in the Spanish area for the rest of the day and some of Wednesday, and it was super fun. I was with elder Evans, and we have become pretty good friends, and we also saw a dead possum. So that was kinda neat. 😂 Then on Wednesday elder Raymer and I were together again and we had a pretty good day! We found like 4 or 5 potential investigators in a little less than an hour, which is super good! So we are pretty pumped for the potential there! Then Thursday was another pretty good day. We did a lot of finding, and not as much success as Wednesday so it was kinda rough, but it turned out to be a good day too. Then the weekend got insane!! So Friday I guess was actually pretty normal, but then on Saturday we met this guy in his yard and he was sooooo drunk. But we start talking to him and end up being there for like 30 min and the whole time he is trying to convince us that God isn't real and how aliens have put us on the Earth as a test 😂 I was laughing when we walked away.
So then on Sunday we were soooo busy. We had church and stuff in the morning and then after church we barely had time to run home and do our studies so we knew what we were teaching the rest of the day, and then we had 4 appointments! One of them was with a recent convert, then one was our dinner, and one was with our bishop. But it was a crazy day. So we enjoyed it! Then Monday was pretty lit too. We had a ward picnic at this huge park! We were blessed to have a few non members there that we were able to talk to and even teach one of them right there! It was amazing! But the weather was awesome too all week! Kinda... it was like 90 a couple days this weekend. And that is not normal. And I can't find a happy medium between too hot and too cold. It went from snow to summer real quick and it is kinda rough. But the heat isn't the bad part, it's the humidity! I literally could be sitting down outside and be sweating because of the humidity. It's the first week I have really noticed how much it can change the weather! But it was a good week overall. Hope you all had a great week too!

Smart Phones!

So this week has been a pretty crazy adventure! We had a pretty normal first few days of the week looking forward to Thursday when we were given our smartphones! So really there was a lot of stuff that happened this week other than getting the phone but that was pretty much the highlight. It makes a lot of things about missionary work a lot easier and less awkward. It did feel super weird going to church without anything paper on me, all I took was my phone. Technology is awesome, and I am pretty pumped to get to start applying it to the missionary work here on Wisconsin! So we did some pretty fun stuff this week, first of all we had a super good time finding and we have a ton of potentials that are now we are getting some investigators out of it! Then also we had zone conference and exchanges and stake conference! Elder Stacy, an area 70 was here for stake conference and he was a super funny guy! I really enjoyed what he had to say.

So here is something he talked about that really stuck me. He quoted some scriptures and said that there is a law given for every blessing that we want. And when we obey that law, it is the only time that God is able to bless us with that blessing! I know that God wants to bless us, but he only can as we obey his commandments! There is so much happiness to come from obedience to God's commands!

I hope you all have a great week!

Crazy Week!

So this week was super crazy! Started out with Elder Fronk for a couple of days, and then we had transfers on Wednesday and I got my new comp Elder Raymer, and it was a pretty good first couple of days with him. But then on Saturday he hurt his knee when we were playing basketball with some of the Elders quorum... It is pretty bad, like he could barley walk on Saturday, but he is feeling a lot better. But like all of our day on Saturday was takin up becasue we went to the doctor for his knee, so that was interesting. But nothing is super wrong, and he can walk a lot better now than he could on Saturday so I am not too worried about it. And then yesterday for Mother's day we got to talk to our families and that was super fun! And that is pretty much the week for us!

So here is something that really hit me yesterday:
"There are few things more powerful than the prayer of a righteous mother" -Boyd K. Packer

Our mothers are so important in our lives. There is so much that goes on that we don't even see that they do for us. The prayers are one of those things. I am sure my mom prayed for me way more than I could ever think of, and I am so thankful for the help she had in getting me to where I am today!! Make sure if you didn't tell your mommas thank you yesterday that you do it today!

Hope you all have a great week!

TRANSFER WEEK

This week is going to be transfers, but I am staying here in Appleton for some more time!! So feel free to send mail all you want cause I will be at the same apartment! Sadly tho, my companion Elder Fronk is leaving... He is going to my first area in Green Bay though, so hes going to a good place! So my new companion will be Elder Raymer, and I don't know anything about him, so it will be fun to meet some one new! I am super excited that I get to stay here in Appleton, its a great area, and there is so much work to do here! Speaking of work, we set a baptismal date this week with a lady named Kim. She has been taught a ton before and just doesn't think she can say that she knows that the Book of Mormon is true. So we are trying to help her get an answer for herself! It has been pretty fun to be able to teach her! Other than that this week has been pretty normal, I went on an exchange with Elder Parker, but he came into our area so it wasn't too different!

Spiritual thought for ya:
Alma 26:12 says:
"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever."
There are a lot of things we do, especially as missionaries, that it seems like we should get credit for. But we have to realize, like Ammon does in this situation, that there is nothing that we can do without God. And I love the fact that "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" Remember that you can do anything through Christ and that you NEED Him in all that you do!!

Hope you all have a great week!
