I'm Coming Home!

Well this is the last email I will send as a missionary, so I hope you all have enjoyed the last 2 years of emails from me haha! I hope they have represented how great my mission has been! I have loved it, through the hard times and good times. I have come to know Jesus Christ more than I thought possible 2 years ago. I know that he lived, and that he lives again for us. There is something special about The Spirit you feel when you talk about His mission. I know it is true. There are so many things I've learned, but I think the largest for me is that God loves us all individually and cares for YOU. He doesn't do things for fun or for any reason but to help us, his children. The Book of Mormon blesses lives of those who read it, including mine. I hope you all have the same wonderful experience reading that book as I do. It is powerful! I love God and am so thankful for the chance I've had to serve him for 2 years.

See you all this week๐Ÿ˜Ž

Missionary Work

Hello everyone,

I have 2 weeks of being a missionary left, and that's an interesting place to be, but it's been a good week nonetheless. So, I honestly don't feel like typing a whole lot.

We had dinner with our friend from Utah again and he took us out to steak so that was nice! We also took a ferry to get to an old formers place and that was fun! I got a my haircut by a member for free! So that was good too!

Other than that it's just been normal missionary work and I've been enjoying life! Hope you all have a great week!

Pioneer Day

Hello!

This week has been a blur! Life seems to just keep on flying by! So I'll give you a rundown of what I remember this week!

So to start off we had a fun p day in prairie with some of the closest missionaries to us! And that was a blast, we just kinda explored the town a little bit and had an all around good time!

Tuesday we had a day to go and find people to teach, and it was hot! So we were out walking around and talking to people anyway that we could! So it was interesting, but fun!

Wednesday we had our interviews with president Murphy in Dodgeville! It was fun to get to know him a little better and have a good conversation about missionary work! It's amazing how smooth the transition seemed for me from mission president to mission president. They are 2 very different people but in the best way possible! They both are fantastic. So then after interviews we drove to Richland Center!

The rest of the day Wednesday and then some of the day Thursday we were over there doing work! They play pickleball to try and find people to teach on Thursday mornings and playing pickleball was soooooo fun!  We also had a couple of good conversations about the church with some of the old guys we were playing with! All around it was a good time there.

Then we drove to Platteville to accept an award that the missionaries there earned. Long story but basically we went over and got a little piece of paper saying we were good volunteers, even tho we never volunteered there! So that was fun, then we got dinner!

Friday was another good day, we did our weekly planning and calls with the district and then had some time to work around town in Prairie! It has been a good time meeting people around here!

Saturday and Sunday were a blast! Saturday was the branch pioneer day activity! We were at a members home and played some games and had some good food! There will be some pics of that stuff! Then Sunday we had church and it was good, and then we went over to a members for dinner and the missionaries from the Iowa branch were there too! So we talked to them a little and then had a great time with the members!

So here's some great photos for you, hope you have a great week๐Ÿ˜Š

Weekly #101

Hello everyone!

This week flew by! On Monday we had our p day and we ended up in Madison because we had zone conference the next day, so we had a good time there at the church to hang out with the other missionaries and talk to our families! We stayed the night with Elder Record and his companion Elder Grant, who are my mission son and grandson so that's kinda cool! It was fun to be with them!

Then on Tuesday we had zone conference, the first one with our new mission president, president Murphy! He is an awesome guy and it was a great zone conference! It was also my last one, so it was a little tender for me. But then we got to go to dinner at Costco after and that was bomb. Then we drove home and that was pretty much the day since we live so far away lol!

Wednesday was a normal day to get out and proselytize! We met some cool people, and then I did my plan! It's a pretty cool way that we get to prepare for going home, but it's kinda rough sometimes because it gets ya thinking about what you want to do! I don't want to be an adult yet lol!

Thursday we did our weekly planning and then the rain came and so we drove to a few potentials just outside of town to try and stay a little more dry, which kinda worked! And then we had a nice dinner at home!

Friday we had a little bit of knocking, tried by some people, and pretty much had a normal day of missionary work. Nobody was home so it was kinda rough. But then for dinner a previous missionary from our mission that we were both good friends with stopped by and we had dinner with him! So that was really fun to see him again!

Saturday and Sunday I don't feel like anything exciting happened. Like it was just kinda being a missionary and living our best life. So that's the week! This morning I caught a pike for the first time in my life so that was kinda cool! I hope you all had a wonderful week!

We also went to the zoo last p day

We can help them be happier!

Well this week was a pretty fun week here in the boonies! We had our first district council of the transfer in Tuesday and it was a blast! We rode with the senior couple on our way there and so we had a lot of fun with them, and they took us out to lunch so that was a bonus! We hadn't been to Bob's BBQ in quite a while so it was good food! Then we went and visited an older member of the branch who is in an old folks home and it was nice to be with him!

The rest of the week we did a lot of walking and met quite a few people. Luckily no crazy dog bites or anything like that! But it was super humid outside! It rains in the night or early morning and then the sun comes up and heats up the water in the air and on the ground and it gets hot and humid and wow. I can sweat quite a bit when it's like that! Honestly it's pretty crazy! So we had a good couple of days in the middle of the week and then Saturday came along!

Saturday we had nothing going on, but we had decided earlier in the week that it would be our day to go to Boscobel and try to visit some people over there. So we tried by a couple different formers, and then we went to Bill Parrish! Who we met a couple weeks ago and he told us to come back when we are in town. So he let us in for the second time, and we started talking to him about God and about how we know that God and Christ are two separate beings, and he very much agreed! He loves the Bible, and so he has some opinions. But then he says, "I believe in reincarnation"... So that confused me, so I asked him to explain making sure we were on the same page, and we were both thinking the same thing for reincarnation.... But the Bible for sure doesn't teach that so.... Not sure. Then elder Mecham asks him, "so where does Jesus Christ fit into your plan?" and then it got very powerful! The spirit was strong and we were able to testify that Christ came so we can live again! It was amazing!

Let's just be sure to remember the knowledge that we have is something special! We take for granted a lot the gospel that we have, but it's a wonderful thing that soo many people don't understand. We can help them be happier! Hope you all have a great week!

Happy 4th! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Hey everyone! This week flew right on by! We met our new mission president on Tuesday in Milwaukee, so we had lots of driving to be done this week to get there and back, about 8 hours total! So he and his family are amazing! Then we got back and the next day was a good day to get out and do some missionary work! It was hot!! I got plenty sweaty, and all we did was walk... These proselyting clothes don't help lol. But we had a good time talking to some people, I think one of them was very grossed out by our sweat.... So that's awkward! But it was a good time!

The 4th of July we spent weekly planning and then at a members house for a BBQ! It was some good food and good company! And of course it wouldn't be the 4th in Wisconsin without a brat! So we had some with the members and they were delicious!

Honestly other than that our week was really normal. Lots of walking and trying to meet people, lots of people weren't home but we had a good time while we did it! Oh, we also got a new car, it had 12 miles on it when we got in... Newest car I'll ever set foot in lol, but we lost our truck (Simba) and that was sad! Oh well, life goes on with a new car!

Well I hope you all had a great week! We are blessed to live in this wonderful country that we do! It was put here for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be restored! And that's the most important thing that has happened in a long long time! Have a stellar week!

The Work Goes On!

Hey everyone!

This week in Wisconsin was as great as ever! We had transfer week, and soooo many missionaries from this place left... So it's going to be different from here on out. But I'm excited for the last 6 weeks of this mission, it's going to be a fantastic way to end it out!

So Monday of this week we went all the way to Madison to hang out with all the missionaries that were leaving, so it was good to see all the friends back there and play some good basketball! But other than that it was a day full of driving!

Tuesday, since it was transfers means that we are asked to do a deep clean of the apartment whether we are getting transferred or not, since ours is relatively new for an apartment it didn't take a long time to clean! But we did some of that and then we did some work out here in good ol Prairie. We didn't see a ton of success, but it was plenty warm outside that's for sure!

Wednesday we spent some time going through our area book looking for people that have been taught before, and trying to meet them, so we went and met a couple of people who are no longer interested lol. But then we went back to Darlene, and she actually seems like she would love to hear the message that we share! So I'm pretty excited to try and meet with her again this coming week!

Thursday we did our weekly planning and then some more work with people in the area book! It has been helpful for us to walk around to them and meet people on the street as we go! We had dinner at a members home and they made some really good BBQ chicken! So that was fun!

Friday we helped a member of the branch presidency move out... So that was a little bit sad for all of the branch, but it's all good! Then we did some more walking and it was HOT! The day was good tho, and we were able to meet a few people that we had been hoping to meet since we got here! The branch had given us a decent list of people to visit and so they were on there!

Saturday we took our trip up to Boscobel and were able to work with a referral that we were given a couple weeks ago! It has been hard for us to do a lot of work in this town because we don't have a ton of miles... So we are trying to make it work the best we can, but Saturday was good for us to be up there and meet a few awesome people! There are some great members of the branch that live there and some people that have been taught before as well!

Sunday was a a normal Sunday. We pretty much had church and had lunch and studies! Then it started dumping rain and there was a massive thunderstorm. So we sat inside for a little while longer and made some phone calls to people we have met and some members to follow up, and then the rain stopped so we were able to go and talk to some people!

Overall this week was good! Summer finally hit in Wisconsin and it was pretty miserable ๐Ÿ˜‚ you can complain about the cold winters and the hot and humid summers... None of it is super pleasant lol. But the work goes on! Hope you all had a killer week! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

UPDATE : One Transfer to Go!

Hello friends and family, this week was pretty bizarre! I got attacked by a dog and it was kinda scary.... Ask me about it if you want to hear more of the story lol. But it was still a fun week! We finally got a working phone.... Only took 5 weeks! And we also got permission to go to Iowa to visit some members that live over there! So now I have been in 3 different states on my mission! You make think I got called to the Wisconsin Milwaukee mission, but in reality it was the Wisconsin Michigan Iowa mission haha!

Well last Monday elder Mecham caught a massive fish, and we had some fun fishing for most of our p day! We stayed in Dodgeville and it was fun all around!

Tuesday we had our last district council of the transfer, and so that was neat, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Then we went on exchanges after district council so elder Hill came with me back to Prairie du Chien! Gotta love driving an hour to get back to your area! We did some finding that night and were able to meet a couple really cool people! We had high hopes for them, and one of them already told us they weren't interested... So we are supposed to me with Darlene here pretty soon, that will be good! This was also the day the dog attacked...

Wednesday was full of driving back to re exchange and then we did some more walking. We walked around town visiting a lot of the people who have been taught before and it was pretty good! It's a great temperature for this time of year in Wisconsin...  Luckily it hasn't got too hot yet! So we met a few people, but nothing too crazy on Wednesday.

Thursday we had weekly planning and then did some more walking... I haven't walked like this since I didn't have a car on campus! But it's fun to be out in the community. We got bashed on by a guy that didn't know what he was talking about so that was annoying, but hopefully he understands a little better now ๐Ÿ˜Š

Friday we had to drive to Fenimore to get our phone that works, so there went an hour and a half or driving... Then we didn't get to do our studies before we left so we did those and then finally got to do some work in the prime hours of the day and people were nice! We found out there was a big event going on in town so we walked over to see what was happening. Turns out there's a big music festival to raise money for cancer prevention! So that was cool to see but you had to pay to get in so we didn't go! We also had a dinner with the wonderful Fitzners!

Saturday the event was still happening and a lot of people weren't home, but the streets were pretty busy so we did some more walking and street contacted some people! It was fun! We went over to Iowa, cause we have permission now, and tried to meet a part member family but they weren't home! So that was just a fun trip across the Mississippi!

Sunday we had church and a baptism for a 8yr old in the branch! So it was good! Plus we had the high council speakers there so there were a ton of people at church! Even a couple of non members! So we got to talk to them! Then we went to dinner at the Koethers house and it was awesome! They have 4 kids and they all love us and I love it! They probably haven't had missionaries in their home for like 4 or 5 years because the last elders weren't allowed to go to Iowa! So it was great to be there for them and feel the spirit in their home!

So that was pretty much the week! Hope you all have a good one! I'm staying in Prairie du chien for my last 7 weeks! It'll be a good ol time!

Weekly

Well this week was a pretty normal week here in the middle of no where Wisconsin! I couldn't be more happy with where I am right now! Elder Mecham and I are getting along great and having a good ol time in Priaire du Chien!

So Monday we had a good day in Dodgeville! We did some fishing on some lake in Governor Dodge State Park, and then we played some ball at a park! It was super hot outside so it wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't too bad either!

Tuesday we had interviews with President Williams for the last time ever!! So I had a good interview with him, and then we drove back to our area and tried to talk to some people! We met a couple of good people, but no one to teach yet!

Wednesday Thursday and Friday were all filled with service in the morning! We helped a random family move in that aren't members so that was a really good opportunity, and then Wednesday we helped a member move across town. So then Friday we went to Platteville to help with a big service project with a lot of our district!

Saturday we had the day to work. And we had a good time! We walked around the town and met a few people on the street and found some at their doors! The people here are really nice, and we talk to them all about where a good place to fish is cause it seems like a lot of people like to do that! So we had some pretty good conversations and met some nice people!

Sunday was a good day! Church was all about Jesus Christ and His atonement and I really appreciated that. It hit me pretty hard what he has done for me, not the first time I have ever felt the Spirit that strong, but it was fantastic! It's amazing how anywhere, even in a branch of 30 people, the Spirit testifies of the truth! I love that idea, it doesn't matter where you are or who you're with, you'll feel the spirit when you talk about Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us!

Well that sums it up, I hope you all have a great week! Love you all!

The Book of Mormon and The Spirit - reasons I would spend two years of my life in this wild state

Hello everyone!

This week was pretty tip top here in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin! We had a decent amount of stuff going on and it kept us busy! We gave talks in church and had exchanges with the Dodgeville elders, all around a good time!

Monday started off better than normal! We decided not to go all the way to Madison, but we just hung out in Dodgeville for the day and had a really good time! We played some basketball, tennis, soccer, and then just relaxed a little! We also went up to devils lake state park and went on a hike! That was a real good time!

Tuesday we had district council and then we had to drive to Madison to get a phone that was supposed to work out here... But it doesn't so we still can't call anyone lol. One day we will be on the grid! But that took a HUGE chunk out of our day and we didn't get home until almost 7 pm..  So not much else on Tuesday other than driving for hours on end!

Wednesday we had a normal day to work in our area, and it was pretty fun! We talked to some people down next to the river, and met a really cool fisherman who was really nice and open to the gospel! We will see if it goes anywhere! Then later on we had a nice chicken dinner at home and started to prepare our talks! I write my talks pretty quickly, and I feel like it is almost too quick, but Elder Mecham helped me to think about it a lot and it turned out very well!

Thursday we had a fun day as well! We were just going all over the place trying to meet members and formers. We did some walking and talked to a few people on the street, everyone in this town is so nice!!!! But we had a meeting with Bro Rice, our branch mission leader, and he is a super cool guy that gave us some fish to eat! Trout to be more specific, and if you know me, you know I don't like fish a whole lot. But we(Elder Mecham) cooked it anyway and I actually really enjoyed it! I was impressed!

Friday I was in Dodgeville for the day working with our district leader Elder Stitch! He is a super nice guy and loves to laugh so we had a good time together! We did some driving while I was there too... The dinner appointment was like 30 minutes away. So I am pretty sick of being in a car at this point, because right after that we had to take the hour drive back to Prairie so I could get home! I have been in a car way too much this week!

Saturday we spent a lot of time preparing our talks, and we still had to weekly plan for this week as well, so most of the day was spent doing that type of stuff. But we did go out and try to talk to some people as well! We actually ran into a member from one of the stakes over in Iowa and he was a super nice guy! Then we came back and finished our talks and our planning, had some dinner and that was pretty much the day!

Sunday we had church... There were 20 people there! It was a bit of a slow week for the branch. We were missing a couple of the families who are usually there and it changed the feeling in the building that's for sure! Elder Mecham counted at the beginning of sacrament 17 people in the room... So hopefully we can help that grow ๐Ÿ˜Š but we gave our talks, and the youth Sunday school teachers were out of town so we ended up teaching the youth as well! So that was an exciting 2 hours for us! But it was pretty fun!

Well that was my week! My talk was about the Book of Mormon as a missionary tool! And I was thinking about it, missionary work has changed a lot, especially recently with phones and calling home and all that fun stuff. But there is at least 2 constants that have never changed since it started in 1830, and that is the Book of Mormon AND the spirit. Without them missionary work is almost entirely useless. That is what we have that others don't, that's the only reason I would spend 2 years of my life in this wild state. To share something sacred with those who are willing to read it!

Love you all, have a great week!

Sick days......

Well this week was pretty long! Elder Mecham and I both ended up being sick on Wednesday and Thursday, so not a whole lot got done, which was a terrible way to start up the new area... But we are feeling better now so it's all good! So Monday we had a fun p day playing basketball in Madison.

Then on Tuesday we were in Madison for zone conference and this was president Williams last time! It's pretty wild to think that he has been here for 3 years and goes home at the end of the month, it will be fun to have a new mission president! But it was a great zone conference all around.

So Wednesday and Thursday we were sick so there isn't a whole lot to say about those days... We just slept a lot and struggled to find something to do inside an apartment with no TV or anything else... But it felt really good to go outside again on Friday!

So Friday, Elder Mecham was still feeling not so good, so we had a pretty relaxed day ,but we still got to do stuff. We basically put a bunch of stuff on our area book app and visited a few people!

Saturday we tried to go to a carnival thing that sounded like it would kinda be like a peach days type feel... But there were about 50 people there so we had to go to some back up plans and try to call some people but work was slow... But then we had dinner with a family of the branch and the senior couple that we get to work with and it was FANTASTIC! Life is great!

Sunday we had a good day and we actually invited the senior couple who does so much for us over for dinner and that was super fun! Then we got out and tried to visit a few different people but no one seemed to be home.. So that was annoying, but it was still a great day! Church here is interesting because there are only like 20 people in the branch. So it is pretty fun to go to church and already know everyone! It's fun!

Well that's a wrap from Wisconsin this week, hope y'all are doing well! Have a good week!

Happy Memorial Day, from the boonies!

Hello everyone, this week was pretty eventful! We had a lot of random stuff happen the first few days and then I opened a new area in the mission called Prairie Du Chien, and it is an hour to the next set of missionaries! So we are out there all by ourselves, well we have a senior couple that lives 30 minutes away... so it works out well to have them there to help us! But it was an exciting week!

Monday we had our p day and elder Hacker and I went golfing!  So that was really fun, cause I haven't done that in a long time. And then we still had time to go hang out at a park with the elders and sisters in our zone! So it made our p day pretty fun!

Tuesday we spent a lot of time cleaning the apartment and packing because we were both leaving and the apartment was going to be left empty! So that was a little bit of an annoying day, but we got to see the refugees one more time and that was really good. It has been a while since I had to say goodbye to a family I had been teaching, and honestly it was hard for me. But I'm glad that they will still be taught and learn the gospel, they are amazing people ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wednesday was transfer day, so that means that I got to sit at the church building for a long while waiting for Elder Mecham, my new companion to come and pick me up. So then I found out that I wasn't even going over to my new area until Thursday afternoon because we had to help move some stuff for our new apartment. So Wednesday we spent the night in Madison again!

Thursday we went and packed up one of the old apartments, and moved almost all of that stuff(with the help of the moving elders and a truck and trailer) to our new apartment in Prairie Du Chien. It's about a 2 hour drive from Madison out there so that was interesting! We missed a turn and the GPS rerouted us on some back roads and that was pretty beautiful! This part of the state is one of the prettiest that I have seen! So we got there and unloaded and then we met the senior couple (the Karrattis) and a member of the branch! We unpacked and moved stuff around and then we had a meeting and dinner with the Karrattis to talk about the people in the branch they were working with and how we could help them. So that was cool to get to know them better!  They are from Hawaii and are turning into my grandma and grandpa out here, just the sweetest people you'll ever meet!

Friday was full of more unpacking and then we went out and tried to visit some of the members that live fairly close to us. So we went out and knocked on their doors, and we met a couple different people! I'm excited for this branch to have full time missionaries again, it will be super helpful for them!

Saturday we spent some tome driving as we went to Boscobel. It's another town in the branch boundaries and we met the members out there. There's actually almost more active members there than there are in Prairie, but the church building is in Prairie, like 30 minutes away! So that was pretty fun to meet the branch president and his family and some of the others as well!

Sunday was great! We had a great time at church and there were more people there than normal because there were some people visiting from out of town for Memorial Day weekend! But it was neat to see the little chapel full! We had a couple of talks from a couple that lives in Madison, who just got back from being a mission president and wife in Argentina! So all of church was on missionary work! That was cool to see for our first time at church!

Well that's my week, this is getting long so I'll just give ya more updates as we go next week! Have a wonderful week!

ELDER SOARES OF THE QUORUM OF THE 12 APOSTLES

Well this week was all summed up by that wonderful title up there. We were blessed as a mission to have the opportunity to hear directly from an apostle as he came to meet with leaders in the area, and invited us missionaries to our own meeting. So on Saturday morning we were with Elder Soares, Elder Wilford Anderson (70), Bishop Waddell (2nd counselor in presiding bishopric), Elder Alvarado (70), and Elder K. David Scott (area 70). So there were 4 general authorities in one building and I was there too! That was pretty neat, and they all spoke to us as the missionaries! I wish I could share all that was said but I'll highlight what elder Soares taught. He basically told us that we need to have a conversion ourselves first. And that it comes through the simple things like reading the scriptures and saying prayers. He talked about all the missionaries he had when he was a mission president, some which are not active in the church and he always asks them, where did it start? And he said that 100 percent of the time the answer is, I stopped studying and praying. So the simple things are what keep us in tune with the spirit!

Well that was a highlight. But we also had some other good experiences this week! I went to the Madison 4th ward on exchanges and managed to get a solid 10 miles in on bikes as we rode around Madison. It's fun to not have a car sometimes! That was on Tuesday and Wednesday that I was there, and then on Thursday we ended up doing our weekly planning, and tried to go and visit Steve because he hasn't been replying. We caught him at home and he was all for us to come back on s Saturday night and then he cancelled. So hopefully we can get back in with him!

Oh I almost forgot. This week is transfer week and I'm leaving! I will be headed to praire du chein. It is a nice little town that sits right on the Mississippi river! Missionaries haven't been there in a long time, so me and my new companion will be opening this area! Wish us luck! Well I'm kinda excited for it, its a small place, the population is only like 5,000.... so we can literally talk to the whole town in the 3 months that I will have there!

Well that's about all I got for you all this week. I know that the apostles we have on the earth are called of God to testify of His son Jesus Christ. And they do that in a wonderful way! I hope that you all can find out for yourself that there are prophets on the earth today, and that Christ has called them to help you. I love you all!

Mother's Day

Hello everyone!

Happy mothers day to all those moms out there, especially mine cause shes the best one๐Ÿ˜‰ but for real moms are the best. So if you didn't do something for your mom than at least give her a call and tell her how thankful you are for her and that you love her.

Well for my week it was pretty cool! We started the week with a fun p day, and then went on exchanges on Monday night with the campus elders. I stayed here in my area and was with Elder Chapman! He is a pretty new missionary. so its cool to see how he does things compared to how I used to and how I do now. He is a solid missionary and it was a good time!

Tuesday we had district council, and then elder Chapman and I got to get out and do some finding! We knocked some doors and had some good responses and conversations so that was fun! One guy decided to tell us about all his neighbors when we asked if there was anyone he knew that could be interested in our message! So we had the inside scoop on that street!

Wednesday I was back with elder Hacker and we went down to Dodgeville and exchanged with the Platteville elders! I went with elder hatch, and he is one of the next missionaries to go home. So I went from being with one of the youngest missionaries to one of the oldest overnight! But he is a good guy, and we had a lot of fun doing work down in Platteville!

Thursday I was still there for the first part of the day, and then came back midway through the day! But it was a pretty drive back from Platteville because this place is finally blooming! All the trees and stuff is blooming and the grass is green again, it's amazing!! Then when I got back we had an appointment with a lady named Chanel, and all we had time to really teach her before she had to go was what the book of mormon is and we invited her to read it! So we have our follow up appointment this week! Then we had dinner with the Wilson's, and did some weekly planning for ourselves!

Friday was pretty normal, we had some time to go and find, and then we had some potential appointments that fell through so that was a little rough, but we met some really cool guys playing basketball on the street in our shirt and ties! So that has been fun, hopefully we can teach them soon!

Saturday was interesting. One of the elders that lives close by but doesn't have a car was feeling really sick, so we got to be the ones to take him to the doctor! So that took some time out of our morning, and then there was a baptism of someone the Spanish sisters have been working with, so that was fun to go to! We invited all our investigators but none of them could come... so hopefully they can come to another baptism soon!

Sunday was mothers day! So we went to church and did all our studies, and then we went and tried to contact a few former investigators that it sounded like might need a nice visit on mothers day! None of them were home, so let's hope that they were having a good mothers day party with their family! Then I got to talk to my family that night and it was a good time! I love them, especially my momma!

Well that's all I got for another week here in Wisconsin, next week we will have a mission conference and Elder Soares of the Quorum of the 12 will be here! Then on Monday we will know about transfers and if I am leaving or not, so exciting news all around. I hope you all have a great week!

Zarahemla-Blanchardville

Hello all!

This week has been a really fun week, we have seemed to have a lot going on which caused us to not have a ton of time to actually do missionary work.... but it was still a very eventful week! We had a good exchange at the beginning of the week with the Dodgeville Elders. I went with a wonderful elder, Elder Hill. And we had a good time in the good ol D-Ville. We went to the most popular place among missionaries there for lunch called Bob's BBQ, it is phenomenal! Good food and good times with Elder Hill. The rest of the week we had meetings, so on Wednesday we had our interviews with President Williams, and then I went over to Milwaukee with one of our assistants Elder Vang for the day! It was interesting for sure.... that was one of the rudest I have ever been treated on my mission! We had a pretty interesting guy answer a door and yell at us to leave his property, then as we knocked on the next 2 doors away from him he continued to yell each time we knocked "Keep it movin"... so that was hard not to reply, but good thing I don't have too crazy of a temper. Pretty sure he watched us for the whole rest of the street, so at least he sacrificed some time to see what we were about(;

Then on Friday we had MLC! Always fun to see a lot of other missionaries and even got to see Elder Udy this time around! Its pretty cool to have kids that I knew in high school in the same mission as me. It's a good time! We had a lesson with our refugee friends on Saturday and it was really spiritual and good! Safarani accepted an invitation to be baptized on June 29th, so hopefully we can help her get ready to be baptized by then! We were also able to help Josephine understand a little better the reason that she needs to be baptized again. So I think it is all going well!

That's the most of our week, it was busy, the weather was constantly changing, and we had fun while we worked! I hope you all have had a wonderful week! I love you all, keep killin it! And enjoy some spring while it lasts!

Oh I almost forgot, this picture of the sign is in a tiny town called Blanchardville. It was originally settled by members of the church and they called it Zarahemla. But they changed the name... sad day, but we still got a plaque!
