So this week was pretty normal, as normal as it gets here in Madison. It was actually super cool! We were able to do a lot of Street contacting, and we even got to teach a couple lessons this week! We also have been really focusing on working with the ward, so we have had an appointment almost every day with a member to help them do missionary work on their own! It is something different than I have done for my entire Mission but it has seemed to be pretty cool for the people that we are working with.
One of the coolest things that happened this week, it was on Tuesday. We were walking back towards our apartment and passed the church, and I checked our phone to see if we had any notifications and Son(a guy we are teaching) had texted us to see if we can meet him at the church in 10 minutes. It was pretty interesting that we happened to be at the church right at the time he texted... Coincidence? I think not! Even more interesting, we have not even had a lesson with him yet so that was our first one. It was completely out of the blue and unscheduled. We actually had scheduled an appointment with someone else at that time that fell through earlier and allowed for us to meet with him. If that isn't God working in our lives I don't know what is.
Scary story this week! So we were doing service at the food pantry and I was standing right next to a scale to weigh produce. This scale is on a table, and it's basically a big chunk of metal. Anyway this old lady that volunteers there as well was walking right in front of me, tripped and hit her head on the scale. It was pretty intense for a couple seconds because everyone in the room looked right at us... Luckily nothing happened and she was okay! It was pretty scary to watch her fall right in front of me. But I'm glad that she is alright and everything is well!
Spiritual thought:
So this week I have been reading the book that the church is publishing called the Saints! It is all about church history, and so far all about Joseph Smith! It talks a lot about his experiences and mistakes with following the Revelation he had received. I am glad that we have the opportunity to learn from him that it is okay to make mistakes. When we are striving to follow Jesus Christ we can be forgiven of all the mistakes that we make and continue to receive more revelation! I know that God leads each of us in our lives, and wants the best for all of us! I would encourage you all to read the Saints, it is a super easy read and is awesome!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
